“As the Omicron variant becomes dominant, I want to urge you to get vaccinated or get your booster as soon as possible,” Hogan tweeted.
Hogan’s positive test comes as hospitalizations are surging and as the state remains in the dark over its case count. More than two weeks ago the state health department was attacked. The state has not provided any information on when the cases rates and positivity rates, which indicate the spread of the virus, will be available.

Covid-19 hospitalizations have jumped to 1,345, the highest since early February. Last week most hospitals in the state were near capacity levels, which triggered emergency measures to take effect, including the cancellation of elective surgeries.

Michael Ricci, a spokesman for Hogan, said they are awaiting the results of Hogan’s PCR test.
Hogan received the initial two doses of the Moderna vaccine in January and February and announced his third shot was taken in August.
Hogan is a cancer survivor and has been in remission since Nov. 2015. He was diagnosed in June 2015 with late stage 3 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which he called “a very advanced and very aggressive” form of cancer.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
