PETALING JAYA: Electricity in areas affected by the floods will take time to resume, despite flood waters receding, says Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).
It said that the safety aspect must be taken into account to ensure each electrical installation is cleaned, tested and safe before being activated.
"If there are any damages such as fallen or drifted poles, and damaged cables due to soil deposition, repair works would prolong the power supply restoration period," TNB said in a Facebook post.
TNB added that several locations not affected by the floods might not have received power supply at the moment.
"Electric supply would be channelled to the consumers in stages, once everything is safe," it said.
