KUALA LUMPUR: Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd (Mydin) managing director Datuk Dr Ameer Ali Mydin said he forgave those who had broken into the retailer's premises at Mydin Mart during the recent floods.
"Honestly, I do not support their act of stealing, but a time of emergency, they would probably have had no choice and forced to do so for their survival.
"Sincerely, I would like to absolve (menghalalkan) what they have done as they were merely trying to stay alive as aid had come in late,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Dec 21).
The statement was issued in response to the break-in at Mydin Mart branch in Sri Muda, Shah Alam.
Ameer said he was deeply touched and sympathised with those affected by the floods, especially when the country was still struggling with the Covid-19 outbreak.- Bernama
