KUALA LUMPUR: Borrowers of the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) who are affected by the floods can apply to defer their repayment from Tuesday (Dec 28) until March 31.

       In a statement on Monday (Dec 27), PTPTN said borrowers can submit their applications through the corporation’s official portal or at any PTPTN branch office.

       They are not required to produce any supporting documents to apply for deferment due to floods.

       “Deferment of PTPTN loan repayment due to floods will be given for a period of three months from the month the application is approved,” PTPTN said, adding that successful applicants would be notified by email within three working days of submitting their application.

       PTPTN also reminded borrowers to update their contact information to ensure approval of their application would reach them.

       It said borrowers can get more information in the FAQ and live chat sections of its portal, or by calling its Careline channel at 03-21933000 (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm), as well as on its official social media. – Bernama
