KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah is taking the crossover of two of its assemblymen in its own stride with its vice-president Datuk Junz Wong saying "leaders come and go but the fight must go on."

He said the party was still on course to regain the state government that they lost in the September 2020 Sabah elections.

"Nothing changes," he said when asked to comment on the decision of Warisan's vice-president and Melalap assemblyman Datuk Peter Anthony and Limbahau assemblyman Juil Nuatim to quit the party to form a new Sabah based party aligned to the ruling Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government.

"We will take it a step at a time. There are always two sides to the coin. We accept his decision. There is a good thing in this development too, take the positive ones," Wong said in wishing Peter and Juil all the best.

Wong said that he was close with Peter who had talked to him about leaving the party previously.

"We talked about this months ago and we knew he (Peter) had such intentions due to the pressure. His decision to move out doesn’t come as a surprise. Of course it is sad he decided to leave," Wong said.
