A man has been arrested in the death of a woman whose burned body was found after a fire in October, D.C. police said.

       Police said Karon Brown, 30, of Northeast Washington was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree murder while armed in the death of Cynthia Barringer, 32, of Southeast Washington.

       Her body was found after a fire Oct. 31 in an apartment in the 2300 block of Green Street SE, police said. The body showed signs of burns, but an autopsy determined that she had been fatally shot, police said.

       They described the incident as domestic in nature. No information was provided about the relationship between the two.
