A 25-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon in Southeast Washington, according to D.C. police.
The shooting occurred about 3:20 p.m. in the 2500 block of Elvans Road SE.

Police identified the victim as Malcolm Turner, who they said had no fixed address. Authorities said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
There have been 227 homicides in the District this year, about a 14 percent increase from last year and the most since 2003.
No arrest has been made in Turner’s shooting, and police did not release additional details.
