Family walk out of 'absolutely chaotic' £276 Christmas Day experience at restaurant

       Paul Millar, 53, visited Don Giovanni in Manchester city centre with his wife and two adult children for its five-course meal on Saturday, priced at £276 altogether. However, they claim they waited 40 minutes just to be seated and another 40 minutes to be served so they left early and demanded a refund.

       Eventually, after allegedly not being served after nearly one and a half hours, the family got a refund and left.

       Paul, from Bury, Greater Manchester, said he saw other negative reviews on the restaurant's Facebook page.

       "Luckily I drove there, so all it cost me was the parking meter, but there were people there who'd got taxis who must have lost a fortune," the father of two added.

       "The young kids serving tables were doing their best and kept saying they were really sorry, but there was hardly any management about.

       "It was shocking really, just really badly organised. We were hugely, hugely disappointed."

       One of the other reviews on the social media site reads: "Myself, my husband and our sons, 5 & 9, took my mum today.

       "We were also due to sit at 4pm and after waiting an hour and a half we demanded a refund and walked out……. Terrible way to spend our Christmas Day afternoon!

       "Two young members of staff running around trying to do everything and a manager who seemed to have no clue how to treat his customers!!!"

       Another woman posted: "It was an utter disgrace ! Don’t think manager lifted his head once to make eye contact with anyone!

       "Burying his head as like you say young girls ran off their feet!

       A spokesperson for the restaurant said: "In response, we can confirm the accusations in the form they have been explained and voiced are incorrect and false. Many tables arrived late and with several having more people attend than were booked for, but being a special day we tried to accommodate as best we could.

       "Those circumstances were relating to customers and not the restaurant, which naturally had a minor knock on effect to the service.

       "The day was a fabulous one overall with many customers leaving extremely happy."
