KUCHING: Chief Minister Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg announced his new Cabinet line-up comprising 10 ministers and 26 assistant ministers.
Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian were named as deputy chief ministers.
Abang Johari will hold three portfolios namely Minister for Finance and New Economy, Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development, and Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability.
Uggah will hold the portfolio of Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development, and Second Minister for Finance and New Economy, while Awang Tengah is Minister for International Trade and Investment and Second Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development.
Dr Sim, who is Sarawak United People’s Party president, will hold the portfolio of Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government.
Also named in the Cabinet line-up were Kakus assemblymen Datuk John Sikie Tayai as Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department, Kemena assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom (Minister for Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development), Senadin assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin (Minister for Transport) and Sebuyau assemblyman Datuk Julaihi Narawi (Minister for Utility and Telecommunications).
Asajaya assemblyman Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah will hold two portfolios – Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, and Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development.
The only woman in the Cabinet – Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah – was made Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development.
Meanwhile, Tarat assemblyman Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn will take charge of Education, Innovation and Talent Development. — Bernama
