KLUANG: A civil servant was among five people arrested here after they were found in possession of drugs and weapons, including a stun gun.

       Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Low Hang Seng said police, acting on information, raided a rented house at Taman Delima here at around 11am on Thursday (Dec 30).

       "We arrested four local men, including the civil servant, and a Thai woman at the location. Their ages range from 21 to 24 years.

       "We also seized an air pistol, 320 metal pellets, a stun gun and 127 bottles filled with liquid believed to be drugs," ACP Low said on Friday (Dec 31).

       He added that three of the suspects including the civil servant tested positive for drugs while further checks revealed that two of them had criminal records.

       "We also found 26 ecstasy pills and two packets of ecstasy and syabu in powder form," he said, adding that all the suspects were being remanded to assist with the investigation.

       ACP Low said the case was being investigated under Section 8 of the Firearms Act 1960 and Section 6 (1) of the Corrosive Substances, Explosives and Dangerous Weapons Act 1958 together with Section 38A (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15 (1) of the same Act.
