KUALA LUMPUR: Social media influencer Siew Pui Yi has kicked off 2022 with a blast by appearing nude on the January edition of the United States-based men’s magazine, Penthouse, and as its cover model.
The Malaysian model, YouTuber and cosmetic entrepreneur has a huge following and boasts of having 16 million followers on her Instagram.
A check on her IG, which carries the moniker @ms_puiyi confirmed that she is the person on the Penthouse model.
She posted a picture of her holding a copy of the magazine as well as other pictures of herself in bikinis.
The PDF copy of the magazine, which featured her, is said to have gone viral with social media abuzz with her daring appearance.
Although Penthouse mentioned her as hailing from Penang, Siew said in media interviews, found on YouTube, that she was born in Kuala Lumpur.
Her parents moved to Penang when she was nine, and she also studied at SMK Datuk Onn, Butterworth, showing her SPM results in 2014, where she scored 9A.
Describing times in Penang as difficult because her parents were poor, they stayed at a rundown apartment in Kampung Gajah.
Siew said spent two years trying to complete her degree in Penang but failed to complete the course, according to one video interview, and she found the state ‘’stuffy and I can’t develop my career there.’’
Siew has spoken of her nude pictures on her laptop, which were hacked after she sent the computer for repairs in 2019.
She was then extorted for RM50,000 if she wanted her pictures back as well as to get control of her account.
She claimed that police reports and even a visit to the Facebook regional office in Singapore led to nowhere, as she shared copies of her reports.
These pictures, she said, also appeared on paid sites, and she almost wanted to commit suicide.
‘’It was then that I decided to take control. I began to appear in more sexy poses instead,” she said in a recent video interview, where she talked of going nude on her social media.
On her appearance in Penthouse, she said on her Instagram, “It’s my honour to be the first Southeast Asian on Penthouse January 2022 cover issues”.
“I can’t describe how happy I am to be the pet of the month,” she said, adding that she was grateful to a “pet manager” of the magazine for everything.
“I’m so grateful. It feels as if I’m dreaming,” she added.
