Emergency services attended the incident on the westbound carriageway between junctions 26 and 25 at around 10.45pm on Saturday. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

       Two men have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

       A section of the M25 remained closed on Sunday.

       Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.

       The Met Police's Serious Collisions Investigation Unit (SCIU) is leading the investigation into the incident.

       Detective Sergeant Mark Palmer urged anyone with information to get in touch.

       He said: “A young man has sadly died and it is important that his family and friends know what happened to him.

       "I would ask anyone who was using this stretch of road to check their dashcam footage for any recordings of this incident.

       "Likewise any witnesses should get in touch with us immediately.”

       A diversion is currently in place, with motorists told to "follow the hollow square symbol from J27 via M11 Southbound to J4, the A406 North Circular Road Westbound to Great Cambridge Junction, and A10 Great Cambridge Road Northbound to re-join the M25 anti-clockwise at J25 (Enfield)".
