THE family of a 14-year-old girl killed by a suspected drug driver have paid tribute to the "brightest star" in their life.
Olivia Kolek was struck by a car on the way to a party, just moments after her mum had wished her a happy New Year.

Olivia's mum, Izabela, and dad, Lukasz, said their daughter was the 'brightest star'
Her devastated parents, Izabela Maziakowska and Lukasz Kolek, said: "Our love, our heart, our life. We will love you forever and longer.
"She had a lot of plans for so many things to do. She was the brightest star in our life.
"We ask that our privacy is respected at this time."
Olivia, 14, from Tipton, West Mids, was pronounced dead at the scene near Rowley Regis railway station shortly before 5.30pm on December 31 2021.
West Midlands police arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by driving while under the influence of drugs.
He has since been released under investigation while forensic test results and carry our further enquiries.
Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses to make contact.
A West Midlands Polise spokesperson said: "We’re still appealing for any witnesses who’ve not yet spoken to us to come forward.

"If you saw what happened or saw the grey Mercedes driving in the build-up to the crash then please get in touch.
"And if you have dash-cam footage showing the incident then we also want to hear from you.”
Post Office assistant Izabela, 41, previously told The Sun: “She was a lovely girl, always smiling, and I will miss everything about her.
"We had Christmas at home together, it was perfect - it was our last Christmas, I can’t believe it.
"I am absolutely heartbroken. She was my whole world. I cannot imagine life without her any more.
"I don’t know hoe I am going to get up and get on with my life. It is broken forever. She was beautiful."
Polish Izabela and technician husband, Lukasz, 40, paid the moving tribute to their only child as close friends comforted and consoled them.
The mum previously told of the heartbreaking final time she saw her daughter.
The 41-year-old told The Sun: "She came into the Post Office where I was working to wish me a Happy New Year, and I gave her some money and told how to enjoy herself and have fun.
"That was the last time I saw her, that was her last ever new year, I can’t believe I’ll never see her again.
"She went off on foot, she was going to the station to catch a train. She was going to a house party with friends."
