State Health and Environment Committee chairman R. Vidyananthan said the highest number of victims is recorded at Kampung Tenang, followed by Kampung Paya Lang and Kampung Jawa, all in Segamat.

"We have 267 victims in Kampung Tenang, 256 victims in Kampung Paya Lang, and 211 victims in Kampung Jawa.

"They are currently placed at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kampung Tenang, SK Batu Anam, and Dewan Serbaguna Logah, respectively," he said in a statement here on Sunday.

He also added that, as of 4pm, a total of 37 temporary relief centres (PPS) have been opened, with 34 PPS in Segamat, two PPS in Kota Tinggi and one PPS in Tangkak.

Five rivers in Johor have also recorded dangerous levels, namely Sungai Kesang and Sungai Tangkak in Tangkak; Sungai Segamat, Sungai Lenik, and Sungai Muar (Buloh Kasap) in Segamat.

Sungai Kesang had risen to 3.32m over the dangerous level of 3.00m, Sungai Tangkak is now at 4.39m from 4.00m, Sungai Segamat is at 9.19m from 9.14m, Sungai Lenik is at 6.03m from 6.00m, and Sungai Muar (Buloh Kasap) is at 9.24m from 9.14m.

There are also six roads that have been closed due to two floods, namely Jalan Kampung Orang Asli Peta and Jalan Kampung Orang Asli Punan in Mersing; and Jalan Puting, Jalan Bukit Tempurung, Jalan Kuala Paya Balai Badang, and Jalan Tumang in Segamat.

Meanwhile, His Majesty Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, through his official Facebook account, informed that he had visited flood victims in Segamat.

Sultan Ibrahim had personally driven to Sekolah Agama Gemereh, which houses 76 victims.

His Majesty has also handed over a personal donation, aside from spending some time with the affected victims.

"Due to the continuous rain right now, I hope that members of the public can be extra cautious and follow the order given by the authorities," he said.
