PETALING JAYA: The manufacturer of the e-Bracelet fitted on those undergoing home quarantine is looking into a report of it falling off.

The manufacturer, QuickMed, said they were aware of a video posted on social media by an individual who said that the e-Bracelet had fallen off.

“We deeply regret this incident and have sent over two technicians to the individual to conduct repairs,” it said in a statement on (Jan 4).

Currently, both national and international travellers who arrive in Malaysia from high-risk countries are given the liberty to perform home quarantine but are required to wear the e-Bracelet for seven days.

They are then monitored through the Home Quarantine Management System (HQMS), which uses GPS technology to monitor individuals undergoing quarantine in real time.

The bracelet will also trigger a warning and inform authorities if there is a breach of quarantine.

On Jan 3, Malay daily Kosmo! reported that the e-Bracelet of a celebrity who had just returned from Mecca and undergoing home quarantine fell off within 24 hours of having it fitted.
