The incident is said to have occurred between Junctions 18 and 19 of the motorway. The incident was first reported by traffic monitors at 4.25pm this afternoon.

       According to Intrix, there was "heavy traffic" due to the collision and 25 minutes of delays.

       Highways England said that there had been one lane shut.

       However, by 5.30pm local reports said that the lanes had been opened so that traffic could begin moving again.

       CheshireLive said that the accident had been cleared.

       Junction 18 is the intersection with the A54, or Middlewich Road, and Junction 19 is the intersection with the A556.
