PETALING JAYA: There will be no more walk-ins at off-site Covid-19 vaccination centres (PPV) allowed as booster shots will only now be given on an appointment basis.

       This came following reports of long queues and crowding at various PPV in the Klang Valley by people wishing to get their third jab of the Covid-19 vaccine.

       ProtectHealth Corporation chief executive officer Datuk Dr Anas Alam Faizli said only those with appointments in MySejahtera should turn up at the PPV for their booster shot.

       ProtectHealth is the government-appointed implementer of private medical practitioner participation in the immunisation programme.

       “Walk-ins to off-site PPV are not allowed. It is by appointment only.

       “Everyone will get their appointment by age de-escalation,” said Anas when contacted yesterday.

       However, those who are eligible or urgently need booster shots but have not received a MySejahtera appointment may register on the waiting list at the PPV of their choice.

       To do so, visit the ProtectHealth website at http://www.protecthealth.com.my and select Find Vaccination Centre (PPV) https://vaksincovid.protecthealth.com.my/find.

       Then, find your preferred PPV registered under ProtectHealth.

       Call or email your preferred or nearest PPV for registration.

       Individuals are also advised to register at only one PPV of a private health facility in order to avoid double booking.

       Those who have successfully registered will be on a waiting list after the registration and will be contacted by the ProtectHealth PPV in the event of an appointment cancellation or no shows by others who have appointments via MySejahtera.

       Besides medical and healthcare centres, a few shopping malls and multipurpose halls have been turned into off-site PPV.
