SIBU: An unidentified man’s body in semi-decomposed state was found along Jalan Wong King Huo Road on Friday (Jan 7).

       Acting Sibu OCPD Supt Dr Collin Babat said the body of the man was found by a member of the public at 10.50am.

       "A police team rushed to the scene after being informed of the discovery," he said.

       Supt Babat said initial investigation revealed that the deceased was probably around 30 years old.

       "The victim was wearing a shirt and long pants. He was found lying face down at the edge of the roadside drain," he said.

       According to him, the body had bruises on the right side of the head.

       The body had been sent to the Sibu Hospital mortuary for further action.

       "We are conducting a detailed investigation and a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death, but at this moment, we are classifying the case as sudden death," he said.
