SJK(T) Kuala Kurau in Perak has received assurance that improvements to the school will be completed in stages, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Kuala Kurau assemblyman Datuk Abdul Yunus Jamhari, who visited the school, said: “This is the only Tamil school in my constituency.”

Abdul Yunus, who is a state exco member, said he would do everything possible to ensure the rural school receives the aid it needs.

“The parent-teacher association’s request to upgrade the library will be included in the state budget,” added Abdul Yunus.

       > Authorities in Punjab, India, have filed cases against 150 unknown farmers whose protest held up Narendra Modi’s motorcade, the same daily reported.

Modi was apparently slated to attend a major event in the state to launch new development projects worth 427.5 billion rupees (RM24.5mil). Poor weather conditions made it unsafe for his entourage to travel by helicopter.

The motorcade came to a halt at a bridge near Bathinda and was stuck for around 20 minutes as the bridge was taken over by farmers.

The confusion and security concerns caused by the delay led to the launch event being cancelled.
