Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall gave Kate Middleton a C&C bracelet shortly before her wedding to Prince William in 2011. But the hosts of the Royally Obsessed podcast noted the present had "incendiary" connotations because of the link between the bracelet and another gift Camilla made to Prince Charles after his wedding. Fashion expert Bethan Holt told the presenters Princess Diana had a complicated relationship with Chanel because of the CC logon which she linked to Charles and Camilla because of a set of cufflinks her husband was given by his then ex-girlfriend.

       Royally Obsessed host Rachel Bowie said: "I just wanna say just like tidbits separate from all of this, we're mentioning the Daily Mail article, when is the C&C bracelet?

       "This was news to me that Camilla gave it to Kate close to the wedding.

       "And when I looked it up...because C&C has such an incendiary [connotation] for all of us, because of The Crown and all of these different things. But also just the history of knowing [what it meant] for Diana and all this..”

       Co-host Roberta Fiorito piped in: “The cufflinks.”

       Ms Bowie continued: “I looked it up so it was basically was like one C is for Camilla and the other C is one for Catherine. correct?”

       The co-host once again quipped: "I would have thought Catherine and Cambridge. I thought that would have been a clever way to do C&C but ok.”

       Bethan Holt added: “I thought it was Catherine & Camilla as a picture I think her wearing it at Wimbledon just a few months after they were married.”

       “Yeah, you’re right. I actually wrote an article a while ago, it was about the Kristen Stewart’s film Spencer because she wears loads of Chanel in that film.

       "And there are so many stories about Princess Diana and her complicated relationship with Chanel because of the C&C thing."

       However, Ms Holt noted Diana was seen adorning a Chanel jacket soon after her separation from Prince Charles was announced.

       She added: "And she actually said to someone, 'I actually can’t wear Chanel because of the C&C logo.'

       "But there is a picture of Princess Diana wearing a jacket on the day when her separation from Prince Charles was announced.”

       Princess Diana spoke to biographer Andrew Morton about finding the bracelet and it was a warning sign for her doomed marriage with Prince Charles.

       In tapes, she said: "Someone in his office told me that my husband has had a bracelet made for her [Camilla].

       "I walked into this man's office one day and I said, 'Ooh, what's in that parcel?' And he said 'Oh, you shouldn't look at that’.

       "So I opened it and there was the bracelet. I was devastated, and he said 'Well, he's going to give it to her tonight’.

       "So rage, rage, rage. You know, 'Why can't you be honest with me?' But no, absolutely cut me dead.

       "It was as if he’d made his decision, and if it wasn't going to work, it wasn't going to work."
