IPOH: Over a span of five days, red paint has been splattered over a house here belonging to a senior citizen.

       Liew Thim Fook, 77, who stays in Bercham said he believed it is the work of some people in relation to his son’s chicken slaughtering factory business.

       He said due to the pandemic, his son’s business suffered losses last year, and probably due to debts, his (Liew) house was targeted.

       “But my 53-year-old son does not stay with me, and I have nothing to do with his business as well.

       “Why target an old couple like us?” he asked at a press conference organised at his house Wednesday (Jan 12) by Perak MCA Public Services and Complaints Bureau chief Low Guo Nan.

       Liew said the first time paint was thrown was at about midnight on Jan 5, followed by the latest incident on Jan 9, at about 4am.

       He said the paint splattered the front gate and had also hit two of his cars.

       “I lodged a police report on Jan 9 itself, and my son had also lodged a report when his factory was splattered with paint as well prior to this.

       “I am worried whoever is doing this will act more aggressively, and this will cause problems for my family.

       “Whoever is doing this, I feel, is using the services of loan sharks,” he added.

       Low said any debts involving companies must be dealt with in an appropriate way.

       “I am sure there are proper documents involved when money is borrowed for business purposes, thus recovery must be done accordingly as well.

       “I hope the police will take this matter seriously, and take action against those involved,” he added.
