Two men were shot dead, and three more men were seriously wounded in separate shootings Saturday on the West and South sides, Chicago police said.

In the most recent fatal shooting, shortly before 12:15 p.m. a 24-year-old man was found unresponsive outside on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of North Mayfield Avenue.

He had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and two wounds to the leg, and was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Saturday morning, a 38-year-old man was shot dead, and another man, 30, was seriously wounded in the Longwood Manor neighborhood on the South Side, police said.

Shortly before 8 a.m., the victims were in a vehicle in the 9200 block of South Normal Avenue, when four people approached and opened fire in their direction. The older man suffered a wound to the head, and was taken in serious condition to the University of Chicago Medical Center.

The younger man was shot in the head and left hand, and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

In the most recent double shooting, two victims, 20 and 23, were both shot about 3 p.m. in the 6400 block of South King Drive in the Parkway Gardens neighborhood.

The younger man suffered wound to the right arm, and was taken in critical condition to U of C Medical Center. The other victim was shot in the face, and was taken to the same hospital where he was listed in serious condition, police said.

The victims were being uncooperative with police. Detectives were investigating.
