Covid-19 Watch: 40% of Malaysia's eligible adult population has received a booster dose

       KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 9,364,326 individuals, or 40% of the eligible adult population in the country has received a Covid-19 booster dose as of Sunday (Jan 16).

       According to the Health Ministry's CovidNow portal, 145,922 booster shots were administered on Sunday.

       A total of 22,903,466 individuals, or 97.8% of the adult population, have been fully vaccinated, while 23,183,820 individuals, or 99%, have received at least one dose of a two-dose Covid-19 vaccine as of Sunday.

       For adolescents aged 12 to 17 years old, a total of 2,773,734, or 88.1% of the group, had been fully vaccinated, while 2,861,589, or 90.9%, had received at least one dose of a two-dose Covid-19 vaccine.

       A total of 147,655 doses of Covid-19 vaccines were administered Sunday, bringing the cumulative total of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 60,884,363.

       Meanwhile, according to the Health Ministry’s Github data repository, 12 deaths were recorded Sunday. - Bernama
