STEAK and kidney has been voted the UK’s favourite pie.
It earned its crust as the nation’s top savoury filling, ahead of classic chicken and mushroom and beef and onion.

Apple topped the list of sweet pies, ahead of banoffee, Tennessee toffee and lemon meringue.
The findings are based on orders placed through food delivery website Foodhub.
Steak and kidney, a favourite of war-time leader Sir Winston Churchill, was chosen more than 11 per cent of the time by pie fans.
It shunted chicken and mushroom — the most popular order last year — from top spot.
But no vegetarian pies made the top five of the savoury list, which was compiled to mark Sunday’s National Pie Day.
A Foodhub spokesman said: “We were surprised as cheese or cheese and onion are usually a classic choice not just among plant-eaters, but meat-eaters, too.
“But a savoury pie is such a classic British cuisine, it comes as no surprise to see steak and kidney take the top spot.”
The first written recipe for a steak and kidney pie dates back to 1694.
The Queen was said to be a fan of tinned pies on flights in the 1990s.
