JOHOR BARU: Johor’s Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Iskandar has assented to the dissolution of the state assembly, paving the way for a state election to take place.

       Earlier, His Majesty accepted an audience to Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad at Istana Bukit Serene here at 5pm Saturday (Jan 22).

       Also present was Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim.

       During the audience with His Majesty, Hasni, who was accompanied by State Secretary Datuk Azmi Rohani, had asked for the Ruler's assent to dissolve the state assembly.

       His Majesty also said the dissolution of the Johor state assembly was in line with Article 23 Part Two of the Johor State Constitution 1895.
