KUANTAN: Three people died while four others were injured in a road accident involving two vehicles at Jalan Kuantan-Maran near Batu 3, Tanah Putih, here.

       Pahang Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Kamarulzaman Jusoh said the accident which took place at about 11.30pm on Sunday involved two cars – a Proton Iswara and Proton Saga, Bernama reported.

       He said the three killed have been identified as Proton Iswara driver Adzarul Fadzlie Ahmad Roki, 33, who was burnt to death, Azura Iskandar Mohamad, 32, and her five-year-old daughter Nur Izara Al Aishah Mohd Fairus, who were travelling in the Proton Saga.

       They were pronounced dead by medical staff at the scene, he said in a statement yesterday.

       Kamarulzaman said Azura’s husband Mohd Fairus Md Yusof, 40, and their three other children Mohamad Al Hafiz Ikram, 11, Nurul Al Aziana Ashikin, 10, and Mohamad Al Alif Ikmal, 9, who suffered injuries to the head, legs and hands, were taken to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital for treatment.

       He said preliminary investigations found that the incident occurred when the vehicle driven by Adzarul Fadzlie, who was driving alone from Gambang towards Kuantan, lost control of his vehicle before grazing the Proton Saga which was on the left lane.
