A man was arrested Tuesday in the death of a woman who was shot in front of her two children in a car on Georgia Avenue NW, D.C. Police Chief Robert J. Contee III said.
Joseph Fox, 27, of Capitol Heights, Md., was charged with second-degree murder while armed, the D.C. police said.

In the Jan. 19 shooting, Sierra Johnson, 27, of Northeast, was killed in a car in the 2500 block of Georgia Avenue NW, police said. Authorities said her children were not harmed.
The shooting occurred shortly after 8 p.m. in the 2600 block of Georgia Avenue NW, near the campus of Howard University and east of the boundary for the Columbia Heights neighborhood.
Police said in a statement that the incident “was domestic in nature.”
