PETALING JAYA: A total of 11,034 new Covid-19 cases were recorded on Monday (Feb 7), says Dr Noor Hisham.

The Health director-general said this brings the cumulative total to 2,925,254 cases.

“Out of the 11,034 new Covid-19 cases, 77 are imported cases and 10,957 are local cases.

“A total of 58 patients fall under Categories 3, 4 and 5, whereas there are 10,976 cases under Categories 1 and 2,” he added.

“Among them, 135 cases require treatment in intensive care units (ICU), whereby 84 are confirmed Covid-19 cases and 51 are suspected cases, probabilities and cases under investigation.

“There are 81 patients who require respiratory assistance. Out of them, 38 are confirmed Covid-19 cases and 43 are suspected cases, probabilities and cases under investigation,” he said.

He added that 10 new clusters were identified, which means there are now 366 active clusters in Malaysia.

On the infectivity rate, Dr Noor Hisham said the national R-naught rate stood at 1.27 with all states and territories recording 1.0 and above.

Sabah (1.47), Perlis (1.4) and Sarawak (1.3) were the top three on the chart, whereas Kuala Lumpur had the lowest infectivity rate of 1.1.
