YONG PENG: A lorry burst into flames in front of a rubber products wholesaler at Parit Sentang Batu, Yong Peng near Batu Pahat on Wednesday (Feb 9).
Yong Peng Fire and Rescue Department chief Asyraf Nur Mohd Yusoff said the department received an emergency call at around 3.26pm.
One Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) vehicle, one Emergency Medical Response Service (EMRS) vehicle and two units of Rapid Intervention Motorcycles (RIM) from the Yong Peng and the Penggaram Fire and Rescue Departments were deployed to the scene.
"The operations were led by the Yong Peng Fire and Rescue Department senior officer II, Badrul Hisham Loi Abdullah," he said in a statement Wednesday.
Fifteen firemen from both stations were involved in the operation.
Asyraf said about 80% of the lorry was damaged in the fire adding the firemen used water hoses from the water tank pump.
The operation ended at around 4.24pm and the case was still under investigation to determine the cause of the fire and losses.
