AYER HITAM: Two people were injured in an accident involving a car and a motorbike in front of a ceramic and porcelain product manufacturing plant near here Wednesday (Feb 9).

       Ayer Hitam Fire and Rescue Department chief Mohamad Shamin Mohamed Salikin said the department received an emergency call on the incident at 5.01pm Wednesday.

       "Seven firemen from our station were sent to the scene at Jalan Ayer Hitam," he said in a statement.

       Shamin said one Fire Rescue Tender vehicle was used in the operation led by the Ayer Hitam and Rescue Department senior officer II, Ilsyadi Dani.

       The accident involved a car driven by a woman and a motorcycle ridden by a man.

       "We used special equipment to free the woman driver who was pinned in the driver’s seat," Shamin said.

       He said both victims were handed over to paramedic personnel from the Health Ministry for further action.

       The operation ended at 6.27pm, he added.
