LEFT abandoned as a baby in a freezing car park - Paul Fronczak couldn't have had a more heartbreaking start in life.

But it was just the first chapter in his incredible story that involves a kidnapping plot, the Chicago mafia, being raised by the "wrong" parents, finding his real family and now searching for his missing twin sister.

Police found little baby Paul abandoned in a New Jersey car park in 1965 - and returned him to his overjoyed parents Dora and Chester.

Dora and Chester had seen their newborn baby kidnapped one year earlier by a woman posing as a nurse from the Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago.

It is suspected the snatch plot may have involved the mob.

The case garnered national attention - and Dora and Chester were overjoyed when Paul was apparently returned to them.

But in reality - the baby they thought was Paul, was actually a different tot called Jack Rosenthal.

And it took Paul until 2015 to discover his real identity in a revelation that shook him and his family to the core.

The 57-year-old saw his life turned upside down as it turned out the doting parents who raised him were not his biological mum and dad.

And since then Jack - who still goes by Paul - has been trying to figure out who he really is.

In the 1960s, Facial similarities with the lost baby were enough for Jack to be handed over to the Fronczaks.

At the time the desperate mum and dad had said that the toddler's ear was the same shape as baby Paul's.

And that was based on the one photo they had of him, taken on the day of his birth before he was cruelly snatched away.

The couple and their new son had no idea until 50 years later they discovered the horrifying mix up due to a DNA test.

Paul took the the test as he had always had an inkling he didn't quite fit in.

He didn't know the snatch until he discovered a box of newspaper clippings about the kidnap case.

And through the help of genetic genealogist, CeCe Moore, Paul managed to find out he was actually Jack.

He later discovered that he had four siblings including a twin sister named Jill who remains missing to this day.

Now the final piece of the puzzle is finding out what really happened to Jill.

He has even had a computer generated mock up of his sister made as he appeals for anyone who may have information about her or her life.

"I will leave no stone unturned. I really think we are going to find Jill, I think she’s alive," he told The Sun Online.

I can’t give up because eventually, someone who knows something is going to talk.

Paul found that he and his twin had both gone missing after they were allegedly neglected by their parents Gilbert and Marie- who are both deceased now.

The dad-of-one unearthed some dark secrets including that the first year of his life he lived in an abusive home with a disturbed veteran father and an alcoholic mother.

One cousin shared their horrifying memory of seeing the babies sitting "in a cage", while other family members say the twins were always crying.

After initially fearing she was dead, Paul is now convinced his twin sister Jill is alive and he is determined to find her.

He has worked with a number of different organisations and has filed a missing person’s case with New Jersey Police.

Paul says he is open to everything to find his sister and has even tried hypnotherapy, remote viewing, and talking to psychics and mediums.

He told The Sun Online: “There has been a new incident that makes me think our parents abandoned both of us because they were scared.

“I talk to all these different people and they all have the same vision."

During his search, Paul met a number of biological relatives and says that “everyone remembers the twins, Jack and Jill” but there are not many willing to talk about them.

Paul said he believes someone in the family must know something about what happened to Jill.

He told The Sun Online: “I can’t give up because eventually, someone who knows something is going to talk.

“I think it’s going to bring back bad stuff because there wasn’t much good in that family.

“But I still feel people who don’t talk are the ones who know something.

“I still feel you can’t make two children vanish out of a family and not have someone remember something.

“After me and my sister vanished my parents became recluses, no one ever saw them again- no one ever talked to them.

“I know we are getting close to this."

Paul discovered the truth about the kidnapping when he was ten after stumbling upon a box of newspaper cuttings about the case.

His parents explained that he had been abducted as a baby but he was eventually found.

But growing up Paul said he always felt different than the rest of his family and after a DNA test in 2012, he confirmed he was not the Fronzcaks' biological son.

His search caused a strain in his relationship with his parents who spent years without speaking to him.

The following year the FBI reopened the case and six years later the “original” Paul was found- who was renamed, Kevin Baty.

Paul did not actually manage to meet the original Paul but he arranged for his mum to speak to him over the phone.

In his upcoming book titled True Identity Paul unravels the story of “who actually kidnapped Paul and the reason behind him and how Kevin actually ended up with Lorraine, the woman who raised him.”

“We are being led to believe the Chicago mob was involved,” he said.

He also shares “the aftermath of what happens when you open this Pandora’s box” as well as his research of finding Jill.

Paul who has received hundreds of messages on his blog from people with similar experiences, says he wants to inspire as many as possible in finding their real identity saying "only the truth will make you happy."

He added: “It’s not just about Jill and finding the real Paul- it’s about helping other individuals who are lost.

“Before I found out who I was I always had this emptiness inside me and nothing that I did ever made me satisfied.

“And that’s because we all have one desire in our life to find who we are, our true identity. And if you don’t know that there's nothing that can feel that void.

“I started this whole thing because I wanted to find my mum and dad’s kidnapped child.

"Because they gave me the greatest gift that was life and I wanted to repay them because this horrible tragedy happened to them and was just swept under the rug.

“I always knew in my heart that Paul was alive and I was going to find him and we did.

“I'm unstoppable now, it's meant to be."
