KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13: With the ongoing decline of the omicron wave and the decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases in the last few days, the Ministry of Health has presented a set of recommendations to the ministerial committee for COVID-19 emergencies for easing restrictions, which is expected to be adopted in Kuwait like in a number of neighboring countries, reports Al-Qabas daily. According to government sources, the committee intends to discuss these recommendations during its upcoming meeting prior to the Cabinet session They asserted that the government will take its time for the return to normal life due to which the easing of restrictions will be gradual.

The sources explained that the recommendations presented to the committee included the resumption of prayers in mosques like they were before the pandemic, reducing the period of isolation for the infected cases and quarantine for those who were in contact, and the resumption of work in government agencies Stopping the use of masks and the resumption of gatherings and events in closed spaces will depend on the study of the epidemiological situation. It is easier to ease the restriction regarding wearing masks in open places than allowing the resumption of weddings.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Health is continuing its field work in more than one aspect, such as accelerating the pace of booster dose vaccinations, vaccinating children in a bid to achieve total societal immunity, and conducting random swab tests in various governorates to detect the epicenters of the pandemic, through which infected people can be detected and their contacts can be traced easily.
