A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle in Maryland.

       Prince George’s County police said the accident happened around 6:50 p.m. Thursday near Indian Head Highway and Oxon Hill Road in the Oxon Hill area.

       Authorities said the pedestrian — who was later identified as Brandon Harris, 39, of Oxon Hill — was walking in the far right lane and was hit by a vehicle. The driver stayed on the scene and was not hurt. Harris suffered critical injuries and died Saturday.

       The crash remains under investigation.
