A COUPLE'S bizarre property ad has caused a stir for a very X-rated reason.

The innocuous listing on a New Zealand property site has become a viral sensation that’s got everyone rethinking how best to sell a house.

From the outside, the two-acre property complete with a small cottage seems like a bog-standard listing for the area near Franz Josef.

That's until you spot the naked couple on the front doorstep - Lawrance Simpson, 34 and his wife Clarissa Turner, 29.

The couple were happy living on their rural property, nestled among the foothills of the Southern Alps, until the Covid pandemic hit.

Lawrance was a local guide, but tourist numbers plummeted and he was forced to move to Queenstown, Stuff reports.

And the move means the couple need to sell their property - and they came up with a unique selling strategy by putting themselves front and centre.

In the first photo on the listing, the couple use a strategically placed watering can and a book while sitting on their front veranda to show their relaxed lifestyle.

The land offers true off grid living - including a composting toilet and a greenhouse to grow your own fruit and veg.

A rainwater tank supplies the house, but there is also access to mains water for gardening.

The house comes fully furnished - and there's even a queen-sized bed popped in the loft bedroom and another two sofa beds for guests.

And as a bonus, the couple claim the cottage gets more sun than any other property in Franz Josef.

Lawrance and Clarissa hope to fetch $315,000 for the property.

And Lawrance said they have had a "decent amount of interest".

The property, listed on Trade Me property, has already racked up more than 11,000 views.

The listing states: "The best views in Franz Josef!

"3kms North of town, nestled amongst the foothills of the Southern Alps.

"A very private 2 acres/8000m2 of subdivided farmland.

"A beautiful alpine A-frame cottage with a greenhouse to keep the grocery bills low."
