KOTA KINABALU: A man is believed to have poured boiling water on his wife before stabbing himself in the stomach following an argument here.

       The 41-year-old was said to have committed the offence at their home in Kg Pondo, Pulau Gaya, near here at around 11.30pm on Tuesday (Feb 15).

       Kota Kinabalu acting police chief Supt George Rakman said the woman, 40, sustained burns to her shoulder and arm.

       “They were arguing about their finances prior to the incident,” he said on Wednesday (Feb 16).

       He said further investigation revealed that the woman used to react physically during their constant quarrels over money.

       Both suspect and victim are being treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
