A court hear how Curry, 69, had been locked in a bitter battle with his neighbour over beer cans being left littered in an alleyway between their two homes.
During an argument, Curry allegedly whacked the other man, 61, with his walking stick, causing "significant swelling", reports StokeonTrentLive.
He was arrested and charged with assault, which he pleaded guilty to at North Staffordshire Justice Centre.
Prosecutor Emma Thompson said: "Mr Curry approached the victim and confronted him about alcohol cans being left in the alley between two properties. The victim stated they were not his cans.
"Without warning, this defendant raised his walking stick above his head and struck the victim to the right side of the head, causing significant pain, swelling and discomfort.
"Mr Curry then walked away and returned home. He was later located at his home address and arrested."

David Houldcroft, mitigating, told the court the neighbours had a "long-running" feud.
"He has been plagued by this neighbour forever leaving beer cans in the alleyway. He felt like he had to sort it out himself," he told the court.
"Mr Curry admits he has thrown them into the injured party's yard and, on occasion, has left them on his door handle.
"On this occasion, he went up to the man and called him a dirty *******. The man said, 'One day I will put a knife in you'.
"He lost his temper and hit the man with his stick. He did not hit him for the fun of it, something provoked him."
Magistrates have requested a report from the Probation Service before Curry is sentenced.
The case was adjourned until April 6.
