IPOH: The police have arrested a man believed to be involved in the rioting incident at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here on Saturday (Feb 19).
Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the man, in his 20s, was arrested near a car park at Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab on Saturday at about 11.50pm.
Comm Mior Faridalathrash said the police are now looking for six other men believed to be involved in the incident at the hospital.
"The man will be remanded for four days until Feb 23 to facilitate investigation under Section 147 of the Penal Code," he said in a statement on Sunday (Feb 20).
"The incident (at the hospital) is believed to have stemmed from a misunderstanding over a dispute between the families of one of the suspects and his girlfriend on Jalan Sekolah, Buntong," he said.
"We are now trying to track down the six other men,” he added.
A group of men had got into a heated argument with security guards at the hospital near the emergency and trauma unit on Saturday at about 12.20am.
Video clips of the incident at the hospital have also gone viral on social media.
