PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 27,179 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (Feb 22), says the Health Ministry.
The ministry's CovidNow portal reported that as of 11.59pm Tuesday, 27,059 local transmissions were recorded while 120 imported cases were detected.
The portal also said that this brings the total number of infections in the country to 3,273,958 cases since the pandemic began.
There are currently 267,084 active cases in the country with 95.3%, or 254,520 individuals, observing home quarantine.
Data from the CovidNow portal shows that there are 4,704 Covid-19 patients, or 1.8% of active cases, being treated at Low-Risk Quarantine and Treatment Centres (PKRC) while 7,574 individuals have been hospitalised.
As at 11.59pm on Tuesday, Malaysia's ICU utilisation rate stood at 59.6%.
According to the CovidNow portal, only six states or localities had ICU utilisation rates of below 50% - Sarawak (47.9%), Terengganu (47.5%), Kedah (42.5%), Negri Sembilan (38.1%), Pahang (38.1%) and Labuan (25.0%).
