JOHOR BARU: There may still be room for Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) and PKR to work together in the Johor state election despite the abrupt end of seat negotiations.

PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the party was willing to work with Muda if they shared the similar spirit.

"If Muda has the same spirit and manifesto as Pakatan Harapan, I don't think we will have a problem working together to ensure that their candidates will win.

"So, we wait for their response, I believe it will be positive," he said in his speech during the launching of the party’s election machinery for the Johor polls here on Sunday (Feb 20) night.

On Saturday (Feb 19), PKR had officially announced all of its 20 candidates for the Johor polls, closing any doors for further seat negotiation with Muda.

Its state chief Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh said that discussion with Muda has been finalised and it is now time to “move on”.

"It is time to move on and focus on doing the work. We went through a series of discussions (with Muda) and have offered them some seats but they have their own demands," he added.
