KOTA KINABALU: Almost 13% of Sabah’s latest Covid-19 cases are children under the age of 11.

       State Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said that of the 3,971 cases on Wednesday (Feb 23), 505 involved children under 11.

       Of these cases, 209 were under the age of five.

       "As for case severity, over 99% or 3,935 of the new cases are Category 1 and 2 patients," he said.

       "Twelve people are in Category 3, 17 in Category 4 and seven in Category 5," he added.

       As for cases by district, Masidi said Kota Kinabalu recorded 735 cases, Penampang 516, Tuaran 410, Tawau 338, Papar 320, Sandakan 198, Keningau 155, Kota Belud 154, Beaufort 153, Putatan 150, Kota Marudu 135, Lahad Datu 129, and Ranau 105.

       No new clusters were recorded on Wednesday.

       Meanwhile, a total of 32,047 children aged five to 11 have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in the state.
