A WOMAN in India died of a suspected heart attack after she lost contact with her son who is trapped in Ukraine, Malaysia Nanban reported.
Her son, identified as Sakthivel, is a 22-year-old medical student in the country, which has been attacked by Russia.
Initially, he had been in touch with his mother to confirm he was safe.
However, his family was not able to reach Sakthivel on Monday. The devastated mother fell ill and died the same day.
The Indian government is facing strong criticism locally for not ensuring the safety of around 18,000 Indian students in Ukraine.
Apparently, there had been delays in evacuating them despite earlier warnings in the lead-up to the invasion.
> Ten pupils who want to be pilots had a pleasant surprise when they were taken to view a flight simulator at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, the daily also reported.
They were given insights into a pilot’s job, how planes are flown and how to handle the technology.
According to the parent-teacher association of SJK(T) Ldg Vallambrosa in Klang, the visit was made possible with the cooperation of the headmaster, teachers, and the school board.
