JOHOR BARU: Despite only contesting four seats - Stulang, Tiram, Maharani and Puteri Wangsa - in the Johor state election, neophyte Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) is confident that all of its four candidates are seasoned with political experience.
PBM secretary-general Nor Hizwan Ahmad said Tebrau MP Steven Choong, who will be contesting in Puteri Wangsa, is an experienced leader in solving local issues.
"We are confident that much aid can be channeled to the needy and issues affecting the people can be solved if Choong is elected as Puteri Wangsa assemblyman," said Nor Hizwan said in a statement on Wednesday (March 2).
For Stulang, Nor Hizwan said PBM fielded 34-year-old Saiful Bahari, who has experience working in several multinational companies and also carrying out various community programmes.
In Tiram, PBM's candidate is Ustaz Azmi Ali, who is a graduate from a university in Egypt, Nor Hizwan said.
"Azmi was born in Kampung Ulu Tiram and he was formerly an officer with the state Islamic affairs council before joining the corporate world and he is also very active with welfare programmes across the state," added Nor Hizwan.
Meanwhile, Nor Hizwan said PBM fielded 28-year-old Hanis Asmuni, a TVET graduate in automotive technology, to contest the Maharani state seat.
"PBM, as a party, does not only rely on rhetoric as all of its candidates have comprehensive plans to serve in the areas they contest, if they were given the mandate by voters," added Nor Hizwan.
