PETALING JAYA: Penang Deputy Chief Minister II Dr P. Ramasamy has been summoned by Bukit Aman on an alleged provocative statement made on social media regarding the recent issues on the conversion of Loh Siew Hong's three children.
Ramasamy said he would be in Bukit Aman to give his statement at 11am on Thursday (March 3).
"I was contacted last week by Bukit Aman to give my statement over an investigation they are conducting.
"This is apparently after multiple police reports were made against me for a particular statement people felt was provocative.
"I will give them my full cooperation as there is nothing to hide," he said.
He is also being probed under the Penal Code and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for abuse of network services.
Ramasamy said his statement regarding the custody of the three children was out of concern for them.
"I was commenting on the custody of the children and urged the police to look into the matter if they had been abducted.
"Some deemed it to be provocative in nature, especially against the religious department in Perlis.
"There have been six or seven police reports made against me," he said.
Ramasamy has been vocal about the custody of Loh's children during her plight.
On Feb 21, Loh, 35, was granted full custody of her three children - twin daughters, 14, and her 10-year-old son after the Kuala Lumpur High Court allowed Loh’s habeas corpus application and ordered her children to be released from the Social Welfare Department’s care and back into her custody.
After her divorce in 2019, she was granted sole custody of the children by the High Court.
However, Loh, an alleged domestic violence victim, lost contact with her children for three years.
He ex-husband, an Indian-Muslim convert, took the children to Perlis and arranged for them to be converted to Islam.
He has since been arrested for a drug offence and is now in prison in Kelantan.
