KAJANG: A vehicle caught fire after the driver crashed his car into a road divider on KM20 of the SILK Highway on Sunday (March 6).

       Kajang Deputy OCPD Supt Mohd Nasir Drahman said the incident occurred at 1.30am.

       "The 29-year-old man was returning home from dinner, heading towards Semenyih. A motorcycle came from the right side and the driver tried to evade it, leading to the car crashing into a road divider," he said in a statement on Sunday.

       The following crash resulted in the car catching fire and the driver of the car suffered injuries.

       "He was sent to the Kajang Hospital for treatment. We are still investigating the matter to determine if there was any negligence from the driver's side," he said, adding that a blood sample has been taken to determine the presence of drugs and alcohol.

       "We urge all to not speculate on the matter. A detailed investigation is being carried out," he said.
