GEORGE TOWN: There are many gender discrimination laws in the country that need to be amended, said Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
"These laws, if amended or updated, will grant women an avenue when they face domestic violence," said Chow.
"The pandemic has affected many women in the B40 category and there is a need to provide such women support to earn a living," he added when handing over flowers to women during a walkabout on Monday (March 7) at the Chowrasta Market here to mark International Women's Day.
Other than flowers, passers by also received a set of face masks and sanitizers.
