JOHOR BARU: Voters in Johor should look at Perikatan Nasional’s track record when making a decision in the March 12 state election, says Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin (pic).
The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) vice-president claimed that during Perikatan chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's 16-month tenure as prime minister, the Pagoh MP successfully led the country through difficult times.
“If we look back at our history, no prime minister had to go through two major crises, a health crisis and an economic crisis, but Muhyiddin successfully did it.
“He led the country through hard times and the recovery the country is experiencing now is not by chance but by strategies set by him when he was prime minister,” the Education Minister told a press conference at a hotel in Permas here on Monday (March 7).
He added that the whole world was affected by Covid-19 but thanks to the steps taken by Perikatan including early vaccination of citizens, Malaysia was able to recover quickly.
Radzi also said Perikatan’s manifesto for the state election, dubbed "Demi Bangsa Johor" (For Bangsa Johor), covered every layer of the community.
“If Perikatan is given the mandate by the people, we are ready to form a government with a clear direction to drive the state.
“Our manifesto is the best for the people of Johor,” he said.
Perikatan's manifesto is based on eight key thrusts, 24 strategies and 145 approaches.
The eight thrusts are: integrity and corruption-free leadership; economic stability; priority in addressing the rising cost of living; concern for the people; social wellbeing; infrastructure efficiency; boosting the tourism sector; and environmental sustainability.
