PETALING JAYA: Floodwaters have inundated several roads in the city centre as of 4pm on Monday (March 7), according to the Integrated Transport Information System (Itis).

Itis, a service by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall, in a statement on its Facebook page said floodwaters were detected at tunnels in front of the Tabung Haji building and Jalan Chan Sow Lin.

It also raised alerts for Jalan Pudu, Jalan Sri Pemaisuri, Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Pahang as of 3.50pm today.

Meanwhile, a video is circulating online showing cars being trapped in water in Jalan Kuchai Lama, what is believed to be from the North Pantai Expressway heading towards Sungai Besi.

Another video showed floodwater in Pudu, although vehicles were still able to pass through.

But in another video, presumably showing another part of Pudu, showed a police car stuck in the water.

An 18-second clip on Facebook showed Jalan Tun HS Lee showed rising floodwater with a person trying to move his motorcycle while a car was stuck.

Itis, in a latest statement on 4.25pm, said the Smart tunnel is closed fully for flood operations.

Mayor Datuk Seri Mahadi Che Ngah, when contacted, said DBKL was monitoring the situation but awaiting feedback from the Drainage and Irrigation Department.
