JOHOR BARU: The standard operating procedures (SOP) for daily commuters between Singapore and Johor should be finalised as soon as possible, says Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad.
Hasni thanked the Federal Government for the reopening of the border starting April 1 and said he hoped that arrangements for those travelling on a daily basis could be announced soon.
"Yes, this (reopening of border) will boost the economy and the tourism sector while also allowing travellers to enter Johor.
"However, we need to know more about the arrangement for daily commuters," he said to the press during a walkabout here in Benut.
He added that the Federal Government should continue to push for the SOP to be finalised and announced as soon as possible.
Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that Malaysia will open up its border with other countries starting from April 1.
