PONTIAN: The government should look into sea routes as well as opening land and air borders, says Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad.
The Mentri Besar said Johor has several international ferry terminals such as Desaru, Kukup and Pasir Gudang.
“If these entry points are also included in the travel routes, arrangements need to be made to ensure visitors who want to travel via these facilities can do so.
“The state government will also bring forth suggestions to the Federal Government soon,” he told reporters after attending a ceremony to draw lots for the relocation of three villages in Benut on Wednesday (March 9).
Hasni also said the travel arrangements for daily commuters between Singapore and Johor should be finalised as soon as possible.
On Tuesday (March 8), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that Malaysia would open up its borders with other countries from April 1.
