YONG PENG: Barisan Nasional's candidate for Yong Peng, Ling Tian Soon, is a service orientated person who is well accepted by all races here, says Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
Speaking highly of the candidate fondly known as Ah Soon, the Sembrong MP and senior minister in charge of defense, said: "The way I see Ah Soon (Ling), although he lost in his previous attempt, he still remains and continues engaging with the people.
"I see that the people here, regardless of race and religion, accept him well.
"I don't know how he did that but his acceptance is from across the board," Hishammuddin said, adding that such approval from the people was a good sign for Ling and Barisan.
He also commended the ground Barisan machinery and party grassroot for having "extraordinary excitement and enthusiasm to go all out to win."
"This gives me the same spirit to fight with all of you all the way," the Senior Minister said at the Yong Peng MCA operation centre here Wednesday (March 9).
Reiterating the importance of political stability, Hishammuddin called on Barisan component parties to work together and present a united front to canvas for votes in the final leg, especially ensuring all party supporters and members come out to vote on March 12.
He also reminded all Barisan grassroots that the state polls were an important checkpoint for Barisan's journey to the 15th general election, and towards a stable state and Federal Government as well as ensuring Malaysia's standing in Asean and the world.
